Chaerophyllum aureum merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Apiaceae (suku adas-adasan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Eropa tengah dan selatan, Krym, Türkiye utara, hingga Iran utara dan barat laut. Nama ilmiah Chaerophyllum aureum diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carolus Linnaeus pada tahun 1762.
