Chionochloa rubra var. inermis merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Pulau North Selandia Baru. Nama ilmiah Chionochloa rubra var. inermis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Henry Eamonn Connor pada tahun 1991.
