Chloris arenaria merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Kuba. Nama ilmiah Chloris arenaria diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Albert Spear Hitchcock pada tahun 1936.
