Chloris cucullata adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Amerika Serikat tengah dan selatan hingga Meksiko. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan hooded windmill grass. Nama ilmiah Chloris cucullata diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Gottlieb Wilhelm T.G. Bischoff pada tahun 1853.
