Chloris virgata merupakan tumbuhan semusim atau menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah Amerika subtropis dan beriklim sedang . Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan feather fingergrass. Nama ilmiah Chloris virgata diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Olof Peter Swartz pada tahun 1797.
