Chrysopogon festucoides merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari India barat daya, Indo-China, hingga kawasan Malesia. Nama ilmiah Chrysopogon festucoides diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Jan Svatopluk Presl pada tahun 1999.
