Chrysopogon hackelii merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah India selatan. Nama ilmiah Chrysopogon hackelii diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Joseph Dalton Hooker pada tahun 1934.
