Citharexylum costaricense adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Verbenaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko (Jalisco, Michoacán), hingga Amerika tengah. Nama ilmiah Citharexylum costaricense diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Harold Norman Moldenke pada tahun 1934.
