Cladium mariscoides merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan smooth sawgrass. Nama ilmiah Cladium mariscoides diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Gotthilf Heinrich Ernst Muhlenberg pada tahun 1836.
