Cleome aculeata merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Cleomaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di kawasan tropis dan subtropis Amerika . Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan prickly spiderflower. Nama ilmiah Cleome aculeata diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carolus Linnaeus pada tahun 1768.
