Cleome hirta adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk perdu kecil dari famili Cleomaceae yang memiliki siklus hidup semusim (annual). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Ethiopia hingga Afrika Selatan. Nama ilmiah Cleome hirta diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Johann Friedrich Klotzsch pada tahun 1868.
