Clethra costaricensis merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Clethraceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko selatan hingga Amerika tengah. Nama ilmiah Clethra costaricensis diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Nathaniel Lord Britton pada tahun 1914.
