Clethra obovata adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Clethraceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Ekuador hingga Peru. Nama ilmiah Clethra obovata diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Hipólito Ruiz López pada tahun 1834.
