Cleyera theoides adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Pentaphylacaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko, Amerika tengah, hingga Jamaika. Nama ilmiah Cleyera theoides pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Olof Peter Swartz pada tahun 1855.
