Coleochloa pallidior merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari kawasan tropis Afrika bagian selatan hingga Provinsi Utara (Northen). Nama ilmiah Coleochloa pallidior diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Ernest Nelmes pada tahun 1953.
