Coleochloa schweinfurthiana merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis. Nama ilmiah Coleochloa schweinfurthiana pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Johann Otto Boeckeler pada tahun 1953.
