Coleostephus paludosus merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Mediterania barat dan tengah. Nama ilmiah Coleostephus paludosus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Michel Charles Durieu de Maisonneuve pada tahun 1976.
