Colona scabra merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Malvaceae (suku kapas-kapasan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari kawasan Malesia bagian tengah hingga Kepulauan Caroline (Palau). Nama ilmiah Colona scabra diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama James Edward Smith pada tahun 1926.
