Copaifera officinalis adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Venezuela hingga Brazil timur laut dan Bolivia timur. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan copaiba. Nama ilmiah Copaifera officinalis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carolus Linnaeus dalam Species Plantarum tahun 1762.
