Coptophyllum reptans merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Rubiaceae (suku kopi-kopian). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Sumatra Selatan hingga Jawa Barat. Nama ilmiah Coptophyllum reptans pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Cornelis Andries Backer pada tahun 1963.
