Cosmos landii merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari Meksiko (Jalisco, Zacatecas). Nama ilmiah Cosmos landii diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Earl Edward Sherff pada tahun 1917.
