Cosmos sulphureus adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan semusim dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko hingga Amerika tengah. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan sulphur cosmos. Nama ilmiah Cosmos sulphureus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Antonio José Cavanilles pada tahun 1791.
