Costus acanthocephalus adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan dari famili Costaceae. Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk akar rimpang. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Sumatra. Nama ilmiah Costus acanthocephalus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Karl Moritz Schumann pada tahun 1899.
