Costus claviger merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Costaceae. Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk akar rimpang. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Guianas. Nama ilmiah Costus claviger diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Raymond Benoist pada tahun 1927.
