Costus woodsonii merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Costaceae. Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk akar rimpang. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Amerika tengah hingga Kolombia. Nama ilmiah Costus woodsonii diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Paul Maas pada tahun 1972.
