Cota palaestina adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan semusim dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Mediterania timur hingga Iraq barat laut. Nama ilmiah Cota palaestina pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Georg Theodor Kotschy pada tahun 1865.
