Cotoneaster acuminatus merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Rosaceae (suku mawar-mawaran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Pakistan timur laut hingga China bagian selatan-tengah dan Myanmar. Nama ilmiah Cotoneaster acuminatus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama John Lindley pada tahun 1821.
