Cotoneaster ambiguus merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Rosaceae (suku mawar-mawaran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah China bagian tengah dan utara. Nama ilmiah Cotoneaster ambiguus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Alfred Rehder pada tahun 1912.
