Cotoneaster frigidus merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Rosaceae (suku mawar-mawaran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Himalaya hingga Tibet. Nama ilmiah Cotoneaster frigidus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Nathaniel Wallich pada tahun 1829.
