Cotoneaster microphyllus adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Rosaceae (suku mawar-mawaran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim dingin (subalpin atau subarktik) dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Pakistan utara hingga China (Sichuan, Yunnan) dan Myanmar utara, India barat laut. Nama ilmiah Cotoneaster microphyllus diperkenalkan oleh Nathaniel Wallich pada tahun 1828.
