Crataegus spissa merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Rosaceae (suku mawar-mawaran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah New York. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan essex hawthorn. Nama ilmiah Crataegus spissa pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Charles Sprague Sargent pada tahun 1908.
