Crepis syriaca merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Mediterania timur. Nama ilmiah Crepis syriaca pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Joseph Friedrich Nicolaus Bornmüller pada tahun 1930.
