Crocus melantherus merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Iridaceae. Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk bonggol berbentuk umbi. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah Yunani selatan. Nama ilmiah Crocus melantherus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Pierre Edmond Boissier pada tahun 1881.
