Crotalaria sphaerocarpa merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di kawasan tropis Afrika dan Afrika Selatan. Nama ilmiah Crotalaria sphaerocarpa pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis George Samuel Perrottet pada tahun 1825.
