Croton betaceus adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Euphorbiaceae (suku kastuba-kastubaan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Brazil hingga Paraguay. Nama ilmiah Croton betaceus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Henri Ernest Baillon pada tahun 1864.
