Croton brevipes merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Euphorbiaceae (suku kastuba-kastubaan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko (Veracruz), Nikaragua, hingga Kolombia. Nama ilmiah Croton brevipes pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Ferdinand Albin Pax pada tahun 1903.
