Croton discolor merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Euphorbiaceae (suku kastuba-kastubaan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Karibia. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan lechecillo. Nama ilmiah Croton discolor pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Ludwig von Willdenow pada tahun 1805.
