Croton leonis merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Euphorbiaceae (suku kastuba-kastubaan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Kuba timur (Sierra de Moa). Nama ilmiah Croton leonis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Léon Camille Marius Croizat pada tahun 2008.
