Croton macrobuxus merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Euphorbiaceae (suku kastuba-kastubaan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Madagaskar. Nama ilmiah Croton macrobuxus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Henri Ernest Baillon pada tahun 1890.
