Croton monanthogynus adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan semusim dari famili Euphorbiaceae (suku kastuba-kastubaan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Amerika Serikat bagian tengah dan timur hingga Meksiko timur laut. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan prairie tea. Nama ilmiah Croton monanthogynus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis André Michaux pada tahun 1803.
