Croton nigricans merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Euphorbiaceae (suku kastuba-kastubaan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Brazil (Rio de Janeiro). Nama ilmiah Croton nigricans pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Friedrich Philipp von Martius pada tahun 1997.
