Croton platyphyllus adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan dari famili Euphorbiaceae (suku kastuba-kastubaan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma gurun pasir atau sabana kering di wilayah Meksiko (Chiapas). Nama ilmiah Croton platyphyllus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Cyrus Longworth Lundell pada tahun 1942.
