Croton santolinus merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Euphorbiaceae (suku kastuba-kastubaan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Peru. Nama ilmiah Croton santolinus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Henri Ernest Baillon pada tahun 1864.
