Croton sarcopetaloides merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Euphorbiaceae (suku kastuba-kastubaan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Brazil (Mato Grosso). Nama ilmiah Croton sarcopetaloides diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Spencer Le Marchant Moore pada tahun 1895.
