Croton siderophyllus merupakan tumbuhan perdu atau perdu kecil dari famili Euphorbiaceae (suku kastuba-kastubaan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Brazil (Bahia, Minas Gerais, Goiás). Nama ilmiah Croton siderophyllus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Henri Ernest Baillon pada tahun 1864.
