Croton versicolor merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Euphorbiaceae (suku kastuba-kastubaan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Brazil (Minas Gerais). Nama ilmiah Croton versicolor pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Johannes Müller Argoviensis pada tahun 1866.
