Cryptantha crassisepala var. elachantha merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Boraginaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah Amerika Serikat bagian barat-tengah dan selatan-tengah. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan thicksepal cryptantha. Nama ilmiah Cryptantha crassisepala var. elachantha pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Ivan Murray Johnston pada tahun 1959.
