Cryptopus elatus merupakan tumbuhan semak dari famili Orchidaceae (suku anggrek-anggrekan). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan tumbuh menempel di batang pohon lain (epifit) dan merambat. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Mascarenes. Nama ilmiah Cryptopus elatus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Louis-Marie Aubert du Petit-Thouars pada tahun 1824.
