Cullen tenax merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Queensland selatan-tengah hingga Victoria. Nama ilmiah Cullen tenax pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis John Lindley pada tahun 1996.
