Cuphea aequipetala merupakan tumbuhan perdu kecil dari famili Lythraceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko hingga Amerika tengah. Nama ilmiah Cuphea aequipetala pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Antonio José Cavanilles pada tahun 1798.
